Today was the first day of school. Last night we all picked out our clothes and set the aside our beds. We went to bed on time and had a good restful night's sleep, (all except mom and Ephraim). We woke with jitters in our tummies and smiles on our faces. We quickly showered and got in our new school clothes, complete with shoes and socks. We had a delicious breakfast of cereal and fruit of which only mom and Ephraim ate all of. We brushed our teeth and then...
Ben went off to school by himself. He said he didn't need me to walk him or drive him, that he would rather walk all by himself. Mom didn't know that being in second grade made him so mature. But she didn't cry.

Two hours later, the rest of us were ready to walk to school too. Today was kindergarten orientation. It was a lot of fun walking slowly to school. It was even more fun seeing all the kids that were on Will & Joë's soccer team in their class. And it was even more fun to do some fun activities with Mom watching while we got used to the school atmosphere. We learned the rules for the bathroom, drinking fountain and classroom sink. We explored the car mat and kitchen areas. We got to make fruit loop bracelets (then we got to EAT them!!) We made flowers to go in Mrs. Iverson's kinder garden. We got to explore OUR recess play area, and then we had to come home. We can't wait to go back again next week! Maybe we will stow away in Ben's backpack tomorrow!
Mom asked Ben what he thought of second grade. He said, "Awesome."
Mom asked Will what he thought of Kindergarten. He said, "Awesome." -with two thumbs up!
Mom asked Joë was she thought of Kindergarten. She said, "Awesome."
Mom hopes they learn a few more words in school....
