Ephraim's First Bath
At a week old, we decided to give Ephraim a sponge bath.
His umbilical cord hadn't fallen off yet, so here he is.

But don't worry, a few minutes later....
and he was content and asleep!!

ANNOUNCING BABY EPHRAIM
IT'S A BOY
Well, these last few days have been fun!! We went to the hospital early on Wednesday morning to be induced. They started me on the pitocin to try and get things going but after a few hours NOTHING was happening and we were just waiting on my doctor to come to break my water. Dewey and my mom were there and we watched movies, played card games, read, and talked. Finally, at 1:30pm my doctor showed up and broke my water, and upped the amount of pitocin. I started having good contractions after that and around 4:30, it looked like I was ready to push! But we had to WAIT....AGAIN!!! My doctor had gone back to the office, and so we had to wait for him to come back through a snow storm. He showed up at 5:15pm and put his gloves on and told me to push. However, our little baby was posterior so the doctor had to use the vaccuum and try and turn the baby over to deliver. Thankfully, even though it felt like hours, it took ten minutes and our little suprise boy came at 5:25 pm!
We named him Ephraim Porter Cook.
He weighed 9 lbs 7 oz and was 22 inches long!
Here is proud dad with his FOURTH child!!The kids came up the next morning to check on mom and meet the new baby. They bought a stuffed shark and a stuffed teddy bear for the baby and the baby gave them each ...

AIRPLANES!!!!
We loved sitting with mom and meeting Baby Ephraim!

Mom was really happy to see us too! Although she thinks that we have each grown a foot!

Our Family
Hey, I thought I had so many people with these blogspots that I would create one for our family. We are all doing very good and are SO EXCITED for Christmas. We even have a cute Santa Claus countdown that we fill in with cotton balls. When it is finished Santa will have a full beard!
So let me update everybody about our fam. Dewey is still working for Costco. He is the Foods Manager at the West Valley Costco. He loves his job, and he loves Costco, even though the hours are a little long. Although, he is really looking forward to a 5 week break when the baby comes!
Willard and Joselyn will be 3 in March. I cannot believe how
big they are! Willard is my little snuggle bump. I love it when he wakes up from a nap because he has to be jumpstarted and like to be held for a while. I don't know exactly what will happen when the baby comes, but I am sure we will figure things out. He also really likes to sing...anything. Right now it is Tinckle (Jingle) Bells, but he will sit at the piano and pretend to play, and sing. He also really likes to go to the swimming pool and pretend he is a shark. He is totally into Lightning McQueen and Cars or Spiderman.
Joselyn is Momma's little helper! She loves to cook with me, do dishes with me, fold laundry
with me, anything that I am doing, she wants to do too! She also thinks that because she is always helping me she gets to boss around the boys. Most of the time they just ignore her, but she can be very convincing! She also loves babies, kitties and puppies, and playing cars or airplanes with her brothers. She and Willard have this cute little relationship...one will wake up and the first thing they say is.."Where is..." They love to play together. And each of them play well one on one with Ben, but the three of them together are TROUBLE!!

Ben turned 5 in September. He just missed the cutoff date for Kindergarten this year, so I have been teaching pre-school. He loves it, and thinks it is fun to call me teacher. He is really smart and close to reading. Right now he is really into Transformers and sharks. Or sharks that transform! He keeps me busy, that is for sure, but he is a great helper and has a wild imagination.

This is Willard, Joselyn and Ben at the MTC when we were dropping off Dewey's little brother Keith in October.
We are all ready for Christmas! We are also very ready for this little baby to come. I am due on December 21st, but because I measure so big and have an umbilical hernia, my doctor won't let me go past the 19th. We don't know if it will be a boy or a girl, but I am hoping that JoE can have a little sister! We will keep you posted!
We hope you all have a great HOLIDAY SEASON!
