Benjamin's Big Day

Benjamin graduated from ... KINDERGARTEN!!! Yeah! Oh boy do I feel old! He was so excited and kept saying "I am all done with Kindergarten! I am a First Grader now!!" We even found out that he is in Mrs Bull's class, which we are really excited about. The aid in her class is in our ward and so Ben knows her. We only know one boy that will be in Ben's class, but Ben is really good at making friends, and we have lots of friends in our neighborhood and some who we go to church with, so he will still have lots of buddies! I am excited because now there will be lots of kids to walk to school with and us moms can help each other out and take turns! Over the past year Ben has taken off with reading. He loves to peek over your shoulder and read your book or tell you all the things on the menu. Each day we find at least 5 books in his room from the night before. He has his own little Book of Mormon that he reads all by himself. He loves to find chapter books and have me read to him. Each week he would bring home a chosen library book and read it to the twins (I asked that he didn't read them to me because they were usually about spiders and other creepy crawlies!) He says that his favorite thing to do at school... (besides recess) is MATH. He follows after his mother's heart!! We love doing math questions at home, and if you think about it, math really is everywhere, so it is not hard to find things to quiz him on. He is a great example for my other children. My mother and I would talk about Older Spirits (my theory is that because he was able to live longer in Heaven before coming to Earth, he had a longer time to be taught by our Heavenly Father and therefore knows a lot more than I do spiritually!), and I believe that Ben's Spirit it much older than mine. Everyday he reminds me about scripture study, which of course he loves to read all by himself!

Some of his favorite things to do are hiking anywhere with dad, especially if it includes geocaching. Reading. Riding bikes. Going for walks. Playing baseball, soccer, CATCH, basketball, golf (miniature), football and anything that includes a ball and something to hit it with! He loves to invent games for Will and JoE to play. He LOVEs to wrestle with his dad and brothers and sister. He loves to play computer games or playstation. He loves to watch movies or make them with puppets. He loves having friends over to play and especially getting to go to a friends house! He loves going to visit family, namely Grandma's house and Pop and Grannie's house. He loves to swim, whether in a pool, a lake, or the tub. He likes pancakes, cereal, spaghetti, chicken nuggets, ham fried rice, and pizza. One of his favorite things is getting to stay up late with mom and dad!
If you couldn't tell, I am very proud of him! He is a wonderfully helpful boy and I love him very much!!!

Still waiting for warmer weather!!!

I thought after April showers we would be getting warmer weather! It still FREEZES at night and I am think it is funny that we turn off the heater in the day and turn it back on at night so the kids won't freeze!! WHAT IS UP WITH THAT??? We have had some fun, but we have to bundle up! Here are some pics of our fun...

We got in some kite flying on a windy day, only the kids ran to play, and Dewey was stuck holding them while the kids ran to the swings!

Aunt Nancy was nice enough to let us stay at her house and she even cut the kids hair for me!! This was Ephers first haircut and he absolutely loved it! He sits better than most kids!
